About

Molly Brown is an Earth scientist and artist whose work bridges the worlds of science and imagination. For over thirty years, she has studied the forces of environmental change, transforming the patterns of data into scientific discovery. Her textured, abstract paintings channels the shifting rhythms of climate, landscapes, and time, layering media to mirror the complexity of the natural world. Living in rural Vermont surrounded by mountains and forests, she draws daily inspiration from the cycles of growth and transformation outside her studio window. Through her work, she invites viewers to feel the interplay between science and art, structure and emotion, data and mystery.
Molly has a doctorate and masters degree in Geographical Sciences, a bachelor's degree in biology and works as a research scientist at the University of Maryland College Park.
